Remote Learning Expectations
During days children are learning remotely (like snow days), your child is expected to complete all assignments provided by the teacher. We recognize that working independently at home is different and difficult for many students, so we want to provide flexibility.
Students and families should check Google Classroom on remote days for important updates.
When signing in for virtual classes, students are expected to be on time, appropriately dressed, and ready to learn.
Sign in 5 minutes before class starts.
Reduce background noise and distractions as much as possible.
Technology & Device Policy
We are committed to making sure that all students can successfully connect to online learning. Students will be provided one device upon entering the NYCDOE school system. We do not replace devices that have physical damage.
One device and charger per student upon entry to the NYC school system, only if a student does not have a device at home.
Replacement devices are no longer available for physically damaged or lost/stolen devices as of March 1, 2024.
In-school devices are available throughout the school day but are not assigned to specific children.
Broken devices must be returned to PS 139 since the devices are DOE/school property.
Chargers must be replaced at personal expense.
Any student being discharged from PS 139 will be required to return the device and charger.
